Today I spent hours in the hot tub getting some relief from the pain and helping me to block up the holes that were making my spoons drain away quicker than I cold clean them and line them up for the next day. The only issue with using this is that I sometimes nod off so I need to ensure that there are people at home who can check on me frequently to make sure this is not the case.
My LG joined me today and I told her not to let me fall asleep. Before you panic too much my wife was at home to, so the burden of responsibility really didn’t rest on the shoulders of a two and a half year old. Nonetheless she duly accepted my instruction and a couple of times when I closed my eyes there was the cheeky shout of “wake up daddy” Now I know in all these instances we all claim not to be asleep but to be resting our eyes, but I really genuinely was, I wouldn’t nod off with her in there with me.
Well my LG obviously got bored very quickly of that game, because the next time I rested my head back and closed my eyes there was no shout. I smiled and could hear her chatting away to her dinosaurs and squeezy toys that we have in the tub. The next thing I got was a bucket of water poured of my face. The shock of which made me jolt and the ensuing spasm led to me flapping around like a fish having been flipped out of water. After what seemed like minutes but probably was just seconds I regained my composure enough to sit up and see the horrified look of my LG staring at me. She then gave me a huge hug and said I love you, you told me to keep you awake. I gave her a huge hug back and started laughing, at which point she started giggling too. For the next 10 minutes or so she kept pouring water over my head and laughing.
For me a major lesson was learnt today, primarily do not ever turn your back or close your eyes around a mischievous 2 and a half year old!
