Photo 101 – Day 8 The Natural World and Leading Lines

With today being a day my wife was at home and the sun was shining I was really pleased that the topic was the natural world and Leading Lines as it was a day I had my wife as a carer at home able to take me out so I could capture a handful of shots that I love.

The first are the tree that I mentioned in the Photo 101 Street Topic, the first few buds and shoots of life are showing after the rain and sun and for about 1 week when the tree is in full blossom it is beautiful, usually the wind blows it off far too quickly and I’m sure C & E next door curse the confetti but it really is a lovely sight in full bloom. Not only have I taken some images of the top of the tree starting to bloom and played with the colour to highlight them, I have also photographed some flowers (forgive my ignorance but I am sure someone will correct me, but they look like Crocus’) that we haven’t planted but they have just naturally spread around the base of the tree.

The full colour image of the tree that I think is a Magnolia tree (again correct me if I am wrong)

An image showing the formation of Crocus (I think) at the base of the tree, only the purple flowers are in colour the rest is black and white bringing up a lovely contrast
Contrasts

The last two images are of the large tree in our cul de sac that for generations has been used by the local children to climb and play on, if you look closely you can see the steps and rope and tyre swings the local children use. The barrenness of this deciduous tree compared to the images above are a lovely contrast
