Today has been a very good day. The meeting set up to determine whether there was other people in the Wmondham area interested in setting up an access group was a success. 20 people attended both non disabled and those with a variety of impairments and we have put the wheels in motion for creating the Wymondham Access Group. We are working on our mission statement and press releases whilst creating social media and websites and I could not be happier. I was nervous this morning thinking what if it is just me, my dad and the lady from Equal Lives there, I needn’t have been though as a large number of people attended.
There were some great issues discussed and we have a platform from which to grow from. During my research for the group I discovered that the Norwich and Dereham Access Groups have been in existence since the 1980’s so my hometown really have been dragging their heels. Whilst there is a long way to go the people there today have inspired me further and we will all be a part of a great thing for our community
